“International Volunteer day celebrated Across Globe today, at Dc Office Srinagar jmmu kashmir
Today an international Volunteer day was celebrated with full glamour across the globe especially at winter capital srinagar. The function was presided by Divisional commissioner Kashmir who is also Chairman of Regional Cross Society Kashmir in which D C srinagar Mr Aejaz Asad, Secretary Red Cross & ADC Srinagar Mr Haneef Balkhi,Treasurer Red Cross Mr Qureshi,Representatives of NGOs, Red Cross volunteers, officials of Red Cross ,& number of beneficieries participated.Div com kmr in his maiden address appreciated the role of volunteers in the society & highlighted the role of volunteers in man made or natural calamities.Further asked the officials for addressing genuine demands/ issues of volunteers like issuance of Identity cards,Winter wears,tour to Central office Red Cross at Dehli,conduct of Membership drive etc for making this organisation at division level strong to serve the people more effectively.D C srinagar has asked for conducting a mela of volunteers in near future so that more youths are involved in this mission.The best volunteers were given awards & merit certificates by Div com kmr.The beneficiaries were given sewing machines & blankets by chair.Jassm Muzaffar Chairman NGO Ali Asgar blood bank care foundation jk in his brief address highlighted the role of volunteers especially during disasters & wished to that the volunteers are issued special passes for free movement in odd situations & equipped with all neccessry disaster kits.At the end of the function,Secretary Red Cross Mr Hannef Balkhi thanked Div com kmr & DC srinagar for making this function successful.Also thanked all participants & other officials of the administration.
