Jammu kashmir: A three-days kickboxing competition kicked off by Syed Mushtaq SAARC journalist & Chairman Jammu Kashmir Private Schools Forum at Private School Beerwah town in central Kashmir’s Budgam district with fruit views and advices. About 400 children from 11 schools and 08 clubs were participated in these competitions.
Senior players as well as new players are increasingly participating in these three-day competitions.
In a large gathering an impressive speech with media bite was delivered by Syed Mushtaq especially on the foremost need and importance of these games for today’s children. In his speech he says that games are fantastic for learning at any age, but they are particularly important for young learners and Research has shown that games are essential for healthy development in early childhood and beyond.

He added that Play lets children practise what they know, and also what they don’t. It allows them to experiment through trial and error, find solutions to problems, work out the best strategies, and build new confidence and skills.
He says that unfortunately these days the busy lives has forget the value of play and our gardens flowers are diverting towards drugs, drunks, smoking in short term to the wrong path.We often think play is not a good use of time and children should be doing some ‘proper’ learning instead.
But doctors and educators believe that we should see play as serious learning. Through play, children develop thinking skills and abilities that help them to succeed in their future, including in language learning. The balance of enjoyment and challenge makes games such amazing tools for learning.

He says that this benefit is clear to everybody that ever tried or saw any martial arts. Training combat sports can help school children to  reduce their stress levels by a large margin. Instead of keeping it inside, they get to let out the negative energy in the gym, punching a bag, doing physical exercise, or simply getting your mind at peace and stop thinking about everything.

He added that one should believe it’s more of a social rather than a physical skill. If you get attacked on the street or somewhere else by a robber or a similar threat, you’ll have a much higher chance of defending yourself especially girl students effectively without taking damage if you know martial arts and it will also allow you to be more relaxed when other people surround you. Many people have difficulty expressing themselves in front of or to other people. Sometimes it stems from insecurity or low self-esteem, while sometimes, it’s a result of lack of socialization due to fear of mockery, bullying, etc.

In conclusion he appreciated such organizations who are organizing this tremendous job and to work all fields of the benefit of the students by socially, morally, educationally, emotionally, cognitively etc development of the students.
