Resident of Bhawaniganj area and journalist of an electronic channel and General Secretary of Dumariaganj tehsil unit of Indian Journalist Association, Purushottam Dubey, annoyed by publishing news of police harassment with a Dalit youth, Bhawaniganj Thanedar reached home regarding misbehavior with journalist. Journalists associated with the Indian Journalist Association and Rural Journalist Association first staged a sit-in at the police officer’s office at Dumariaganj for action against the police officer. Taking the matter seriously, Police Captain Dr Yashveer Singh assured the journalists of taking action against the accused police officer soon after taking permission from the Election Commission. .
During this, IJA District President Krishna Pratap Singh, State Spokesperson Purvanchal Hashim Rizvi, Divisional Media In-charge Vijay Yadav, District Vice President Bhupendra Singh, Tehsil President Rajesh Yadav, Mohammad Ismail, Kuldeep Dubey, Anurag Srivastava, Devanand Pathak, Purushottam Dubey etc. were present.
