डॉ विनय कुमार दक्षिण एशिया के प्रतिनिधि निर्वाचित

पटना : बिहार के प्रसिद्ध मनोचिकित्सक और इंडियन साइकाएट्रिक सोसायटी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष डॉ विनय कुमार वर्ल्ड साइकाएट्रिक एसोसिएशन में दक्षिण एशिया के प्रतिनिधि होंगे। हाल ही में विएना में हुए वर्ल्ड काँग्रेस ऑफ़ साइकाएट्री के दौरान हुए चुनाव में वे भारी बहुमत से जीते। इस जीत के पीछे उनकी राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय सक्रियता और वैज्ञानिक स्तर पर शोध-संवाद के लिए की गयी पहल ने भूमिका निभायी।
140 देशों के मनोचिकित्सा संघों के साथ अपने संवाद में डॉ कुमार ने इस बात पर बल दिया कि वैश्वीकरण के बाद हम सब का मानसिक स्वास्थ्य एक जैसे संकटों से से घिरा है, इसलिए हमें मिलकर शोध करना चाहिए और मानसिक स्वास्थ्य की रक्षा के लिए ऐसे मार्ग ढूँढने चाहिए जो जीवन शैली में बदलाव पर आधारित हो न कि अस्पताल और दवाओं पर। मनोचिकित्सा के इस वैश्विक सम्मेलन में डॉ कुमार ने एक महत्त्वपूर्ण सत्र की अध्यक्षता भी की।
Dr Vinay Kumar will represent South Asia
Patna based famous psychiatrist Dr Vinay Kumar got elected to the Governing Board of World Psychiatric Association(WPA). He will represent and be in charge of WPA initiatives in South Asia.The credit of this victory goes to his active involvement in national and international activities and initiation of research related dialogue with developed countries. Dr Kumar who is current President of Indian Psychiatric Society appealed to 140 member societies of WPA that in this globalised world our mental health problems are nearly similar and
there is need for collaborative research to find low cost ways of mental health care.
Dr Kumar chaired an important session on Eco psychiatry.
